The context
Agnès Huybens is a holistic nurse and wellbeing advisor based in Couthuin, Belgium. Her Wix subscription was about to expire: the move had to happen fast, on a tight budget, with one clear goal, letting her run her website completely on her own, without a costly subscription.
What I built
A custom Nuxt 4 website that carries over all the existing content and reorganises it around her offer:
- Treatment, Workshop and Retreat pages, with dates, prices and a booking call to action;
- an events calendar that automatically hides past dates;
- a Testimonials page with an animated slider, designed mobile-first;
- a protected contact form (reCAPTCHA v3, per-IP rate limiting).
For content management, a custom back office rather than a generic CMS: rich-text editor, photo cropping on upload, drag-and-drop reordering, and a full newsletter module (subscriber list, first-name personalisation, batch sending and one-click unsubscribe).
Under the hood
Public pages are served with ISR on Vercel: the site stays as fast as a static one, and every change saved in the admin updates the affected pages right away. SEO got careful attention (Open Graph, structured data, canonical URLs) to keep the visibility built up on Wix.
Outcome
- A faster, fully custom website, free from any proprietary platform
- Running costs brought down to about €50 a year
- A client who manages her content and newsletter on her own
- Her feedback worked in along the way, down to the mobile finishing touches
